Niacinamide
Chemical Formula:C6H5NO2

Chemical Structure of Niacinamide

Derived From:Niacinamide is a water soluble vitamin and is part of the vitamin B group. Niacinamide is a conversion from Niacin that is identical in the vitamin function but Niacin is toxic and can't be used in food products and Niacinamide is not.Nicotinic acid, also known as niacin, is converted to nicotinamide in vivo, and, though the two are identical in their vitamin functions, nicotinamide does not have the same pharmacological and toxic effects of niacin, which occur incidental to niacin's conversion.

Health Effects: With big enough doses the vitamin can be toxic to the liver. Some of the side effects of from the pure Niacinamide vitamin are flushing of the skin, nausea , headaches and more. These are extreme and are only usually noticeable through people deficient in the vitamin so they take it in vitamin form. Can cause irritation in the skin and cause dehydration. These are from compromising the energy intake to a small drink.

Purpose of being in Red Bull:This is an ingredient in Red Bull because of the natural energy it can give. Energy in the form of a vitamin that is already in your body sounds good to consumers and is a smart way to enhance the energy drinks.
